Comedy from the great Japanese director Yasujiro Ozu. In a suburban community in the 1950s two brothers, Minoru (Koji Shitara) and Isamu (Masahiko Shimazu), are frustrated and disappointed when their parents will not buy them a television. Not understanding the way adults converse, the brothers refuse to speak to all grown-ups from this point on and run away from home.

But will their protests convince their parents to get a television?
